Modelling
To ensure the success of each survey, our expert team performs detailed simulation involving a workflow approach to assess the feasibility of time-lapse gravity in each scenario
- Our modelling team builds a stand-alone gravity model based on all available data and information
- Gravity model is assessed and compared to customer’s reservoir model then data taken in to customer software platform to integrate and manage reservoir models, data, and well interventions.
The parameters/values for first-order assessment of a candidate’s expected time-lapse gravity signals should include the following:
- thickness of the reservoir (average and range)
- porosity (average and range)
- expected change in fluid saturation (all phases) and fluid densities
- lateral extent of the anticipated zone of fluid substitution
- positions of monitoring wells relative to the zones of fluid substitution
- structural map (dipping beds versus flat beds)
